Salary Range: Dependent on experience, starting at $40,000

Bridging Communities Inc, (BCI) is accepting applications for a full time Service Coordinator. The successful applicant must be bilingual (English and Spanish); have a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Gerontology or related field; working knowledge of public benefits, local, state, federal benefits and other human service programs available to older adults.  Participation in some evening and weekend events is required. Successful candidates will meet the following requirements:

  • At least three years of experience with providing services to the older adult population preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to details.  
  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal and in writing).
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Advance computer skills, (Microsoft Office, Google workspace, Zoom, etc.,). Able to learn new technologies as software programs change.
  • Able to produce detailed reports and maintain project documentation.
  • Able to establish effective work relationships, using good judgment, initiative and resourcefulness when dealing with staff, clients, business and community stakeholders.

Housing Coordinator-CEDAM Americorps Position

Bridging Communities Inc, (BCI), is accepting applications for a full time Housing Coordinator. A key component of this position is to interview clients to identify the level and type of housing services needed. The employee works with the Housing team and Service Coordinators to facilitate access to support services and loan programs; provides housing counseling and conducts required training to support clients’ ability to purchase and remain in their home. Work collaboratively with BCI staff and external agencies that provide access to housing services and other community programs.

The successful applicant will have hands on experience producing detailed reports for various software programs and must be proficient using database software such as Salesforce.  The employee also works with housing team members to coordinate access to housing support services. Participation in some evening and weekend events is required.

Successful candidates will meet the following requirements:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal and in writing). Able to use written and visual tools to communicate complex ideas and processes.
  • Familiarity with City of Detroit programs and processes.
  • Advance computer skills, (Microsoft Office, Google workspace, Zoom, etc.,). Able to learn new technologies as software programs change.
  • Able to produce detailed reports and maintain accurate program documentation.
  • Able to establish effective work relationships, use good judgment, initiative and resourcefulness when dealing with co-workers, clients, business and community stakeholders.
