Eldercare Services
Bridging Communities provides professional assessments for those 60 and over in the greater Southwest Detroit area. We leverage the gifts and talents of our dedicated volunteers and partners to fulfill identified unmet needs. Comprehensive services range from professional case coordination by staff to services provided by volunteers such as friendly visits to reduce isolation, safe and supportive companion transportation to medical appointments, friendly phone calls, holiday remembrances, supplemental food delivery, intergenerational opportunities, educational workshops, and more.
Neighorhood Stabilization & Housing
Driven by the knowledge that quality, affordable housing plays a critical role in providing stability to our elders and families alike, we are committed to connecting Detroit residents to resources and opportunities that allow them to age in place in dignity.
Youth Programming
Youth from the Southwest Detroit area ages 13 to 18 join us on a year-round journey of exploration of leadership skills, event planning, community service, and adventure. All of which culminates in them working with staff to organize our largest intergenerational annual community event, Movies on the Green. Interspersed throughout the year are youth-chosen topics, encouraging them to branch out of their comfort zones. This includes intergenerational activities with seniors and community advocacy. By exploring and growing together, the youth form bonds with staff, each other, and their community.
