Must have a bachelor’s degree in social work, Gerontology or related field

Language Requirement: 

Must be Bilingual: English & Spanish

Experience Requirement: 

Working knowledge of public benefits, local, state, federal benefits and other human service programs available to older adults

Deputy Director

Salary

$70,000

Position Summary: 

The Deputy Director plays a critical leadership role in managing day-to-day operations, supervising key
program areas, and supporting strategic planning while working closely with the Executive Director

Key Responsibilities: 

– Support strategic goals and organizational initiatives.
– Lead internal projects and develop policies and procedures.
– Supervise program managers and monitor program performance.
– Oversee internal operations and financial oversight support.
– Support HR functions and staff development.
– Assist with fund development and stakeholder engagement

Experience Requirement: 

Required:
– Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
– 5–7 years of leadership experience in nonprofit or community development.
– Strong supervisory, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred:
– Master’s degree.
– Experience with seniors, housing, community development, or Detroit-based initiatives.
– Government grant compliance experience.

Work Environment & Schedule: 

Full-time, primarily in-office with some hybrid flexibility. Some evenings and weekends required.
