With a combination of support across metro Detroit, our volunteers are able to serve our seniors so they can age in place. Whether it’s transporting them to doctor’s appointments or delivering sweets on Sweetest Day. Our volunteers help to ensure that our seniors continue to be appreciated and remembered as essential members of the Southwest Detroit area community. Our volunteer services program works with most schedules and skillsets from. We invite you, your friends, and other group affiliations to come support and get to know our seniors.
We have always been based on volunteerism and the belief that every person has something to offer. We continue to seek innovative ways to engage with our volunteers, our clients, and our community. BCI is the host of the Unity in Our Community TimeBank, and utilizes record keeping of hours exchanged to serve our clients and our community. This allows our volunteers to get something back for the time they give through a direct exchange or by participating in a group class, activity, or workshop.
